KENNETH S. MILLER

Institute for Advanced Study; Columbia University, Ph.D., Mathematics; Columbia University, B.S., Chemical Engineering

Dr. Miller has been the Senior Research Associate with Riverside Research Institute since 1964 and a consultant to EAI since 1990. His research efforts cover a wide spectrum in pure and applied mathematics. In recent years his major efforts have been concentrated on problems related to random noise, complex stochastic processes, multiariate distributions, and fractional calculus. His consulting services for EAI in the this last area were instrumental in the development of the NOISE software. He is the author of 80 research papers and 23 books, the most recent of which, entitled An Introduction to the Fractional Calculus and Fractional Differential Equations (1993), he co-authored with the late Bertram Ross. Currently he is a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews and Zentrallblatt Fur Mathematik. He has published over 375 reviews and abstracts.

During the period from 1950 to 1964 Dr. Miller served as a Professor of Mathematics at New York University. He has lectured at many prominent universities, and from 1962 to 1964 he was a visiting professor of engineering mathematics at Columbia University. Dr. Miller is a member of the American Mathematical Society, Sigma Xi, Tau Beta Pi, and Pi Mu Epsilon. He is listed in American Men of Science, World Directory of Mathematicians, World Who's Who in Science, as well as Who's Who in the East and other publications.
