ENGINEERING ANALYSIS INC.
Department of Defense Explosive Safety Seminar Presentation
At the 27th Department of Defense Explosive Safety Seminar, held August
19-22 in Las Vegas, as part of a paper
entitled "Computer-Based Prediction of Personnel Injury Due to an
Explosion", Dr. Frank B. Tatom of
Engineering Analysis Inc. (EAI) of Huntsville, Alabama introduced the HEXDAM
Man concept. The HEXDAM
(High Explosive Damage Assessment Model) software is currently used
worldwide by both military and industrial
organizations to compute blast damages to structures for a variety of
different scenarios. By means of the
HEXDAM Man concept, in addition to computing blast damage to structures
following an explosion, the blast
injury to each of twenty-eight different human body components can also be
computed for an unlimited number of
persons located in the vicinity. A live demonstration of the HEXDAM Man
was given at the office of EAI on
Wednesday, August 28 at 1:00 p.m.
