HEXFRAG is a software package, developed by EAI, which is designed to predict fragmentation effects when used in conjunction with the Breeze HEXDAM 7.0 software. The software predicts frangible material breakage and personnel injury resulting from fragmentation effects. HEXFRAG employs a simplified theory, utilizing the standard HEXDAM output, with a log normal breakage model, projected area screening, and an empirical fragmentation injury model. The logic flow for HEXFRAG is depicted in the figure below. As indicated in the figure, the inputs include the associated HEXDAM output, the number of frangible objects, and the number of personnel. For each component of each exposed HEXDAM Man, the outputs include, the number of hits and the fragmentation injury level, both in tabular and three-dimensional graphical form.
